Ted Tihansky Paintings - Exhibit opens July 18, free reception 2 - 5 pm

Ted Tihansky first made a name for himself as a portrait painter, but his career took a turn in 1991 when he earned a landscape painting fellowship that enabled him to travel across North America. At the end of the fellowship, he discovered Monhegan, Maine, a remote, rocky island that boasts a long history as an artists’ colony, attracting painters such as Hopper, Bellows, Kent and Wyeth. About Us

Founded in 1986, the Hoboken Historical Museum's mission is to educate the public about Hoboken's history, diverse culture, architecture and historic landmarks.

In 2001, the Museum moved into one of the oldest buildings on the waterfront, in the former Bethlehem Steel shipyard, at 1301 Hudson Street, Hoboken, where it maintains a series of rotating exhibits.

The Museum offers special exhibits, tours, events and lectures, as well as educational programs for adults and children on a weekly basis. To view an updated schedule of activities and events, please click here.



We are open six days a week.

Our new hours are:
2pm – 7pm on Tuesday – Thursday
1pm – 5pm on Fridays
Noon – 5pm on weekends


We are always looking for new volunteers, members and Hoboken history anecdotes. Please contact us at 201-656-2240. We are a not-for-profit tax-exempt 501(c) entity.
